Dr Joel Cullin is a psychotherapist and family therapist in full time private practice in Brisbane. Joel’s original degree was a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Queensland, and he also holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health (Psychotherapy) and a PhD from the same institution. Joel’s Master’s and doctoral theses both explored systemic thinking about complex problems. In addition to his private practice, Joel has lectured in family therapy practice to postgraduate students in social work at the University of Queensland and psychology and James Cook University. Joel presently teaches family therapy in the Master of Counselling programme at the University of Queensland. Joel is a past board member of the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Family Therapy, a contributor to the professional literature in family therapy and psychotherapy, and a regular private provider of training in psychotherapy, family therapy and systemic thinking. Before entering private practice, Joel worked in an array of public contexts, including adult mental health, child and youth mental health, child protection (in the United Kingdom) and community-based family therapy. |
